Hi ~~first_name~~,

The February 2026 Newsletter is now available on the website; you can access it directly using this link: February 2026 Newsletter

We are excited to welcome two presenters this month: Arnie Bandstra who will demonstrate this traditional craft: weaving natural cane or rattan strands through a chair frame to create a durable, patterned seat and Rob Showalter of Geneva High School will present "Not Your Father’s Woodworking Class," sharing how he transformed a traditional "shop" elective into a modern program encouraging students to design and build their own custom furniture. By modernizing the technology used in the Technology Education department, replacing outdated projects, and introducing CNC machining and entrepreneurial skills, Rob’s streamlined approach equips students with professional-grade expertise for a future in engineering and design while carrying on the craft of woodworking.

Only one shared shop tips and no project photos this month.  So, please keep them coming! We welcome all contributions, so if you haven't shared before or it's just been a while, please do as we want to hear from you.  Send your shop tips and project photos to me at woodworkers@fvwwc.org.

There will be SIG meetings and membership renewals / badges at the February meeting.  Remember, our meeting venue has changed.  We are now meeting at the Batavia Overseas VFW Post #1197 located at 645 S. River St. (Rt. 25) in Batavia.

Reminder: We made the difficult choice to raise rates to $40 for the year, as always this includes all in your household.  If you missed the announcement and want to learn more, please look back at page 2 of September's Newsletter.

Please stay safe and we will see you at the February 63rd General Meeting which starts at 7:00pm.

Sincerely,

John Gesiakowski
